Aaron Shapiro will lead a quartet in a set of original works crafted over the past decade in Chicago, each piece shaped by his experiences performing and collaborating throughout the city’s creative music scenes.

Guitarist and composer Aaron Shapiro has been an active part of Chicago’s music community for over a decade. Raised in a musical family and trained in classical guitar from an early age, he later developed a focus on jazz and turned his attention to composing works for big band, organ trio, and collaborative work with vocalists. His work has taken him to renowned venues including Pritzker Pavilion, Ravinia’s Bennett Gordon Hall, Andy’s Jazz Club, and the Green Mill. As a sideman, he has played at the Salt Shed, Riot Fest, and Metro, and he has performed alongside artists such as Esperanza Spaulding and Marquis Hill.
