DJ McShellen has made her way through Minnesota’s local DJ scene. Her father came to the United States from Cameroon and fell in love with deejaying, so it was only right that she followed suit. She has opened for global star Number 1 African Bad Gyal Tiwa Savage and has played countless venues, including Target Center; the Varsity; First Avenue; the 7th Street Entry; and numerous bars, lounges, clubs, and art and community spaces. She has also worked with Nike, USA Olympic Gymnastics, Red Bull, 300 Entertainment, Dash Radio, KMOJ, and Carbon Sound.
McShellen loves to create a real melting pot of old school/throwback and new school/futuristic: 50% “that’s my jam” and 50% “oh this a bop!” While she is an open format DJ, her favorite genres are Afrobeat, amapiano/Afrohouse, bounce, funk fusion, R&B, hip-hop, and reggae. Her goal is to create a new, fun, and enjoyable experience while in any space.
