The owners of Disco Death Records, the excellent record store and coffee shop in the Wedge neighborhood of Minneapolis, will spin at Berlin! Running a record store means Colin and Joel have access to all kinds of music—house, global stuff, experimental—you name it. There’s always something unexpected in the mix.
Colin Wilkinson is one half of Disco Death Records. Originally from Milwaukee, WI, Colin moved to Minnesota permanently in 2010. He started in the punk scene, playing in bands, and then got into the records business. He has been slinging records for the past decade. He used to be a part of Dead Media Records in South Minneapolis, and he DJs house parties and weddings. He also has traveled all over the world to expand his mind on music and the world as a whole. He also bartends at St Pierre Steak and Seafood.
Joel Eckerson is the other half of Disco Death Records. He has been collecting records since he was a teenager and played in some metal and post-punk bands in his 20s. Now, he enjoys curating and discussing music whenever he gets the chance.
