This week's selection is Wede Harer Guzo, the 1978 Ethiopian jazz and soul album by keyboardist and accordion maestro Hailu Mergia. The album was considered largely lost to time until the blog and record label Awesome Tapes From Africa tracked down Mergia's personal cassette copy — the only known surviving source. After a deep audio restoration to clean up decades of tape hiss, it was officially reissued globally in 2016.
