The WPK Trio presents an enticing mix of straight-ahead jazz, Brazilian stylings, and funky soul influences as they explore the Great American Songbook with a few surprises. The trio (Mark Weisberg, Michael Pilhofer, Phil Kadidlo) will engage in spirited musical conversation with gifted multi-saxophonist Peter Vircks as they explore compositions by Brad Melhdau, Pat Metheny, Keith Jarrett, Wayne Shorter, Christian McBride, Yellowjackets, and more.

Mark Weisberg has played with many local jazz artists, including Debbie Duncan, Prudence Johnson, Dennis Spears, Patty Peterson, T. Michael Rambo, Fred Steele, JD Steele, Mary Louise Knutson, and Ginger Commodore Quartet. While living in Detroit, he played with Earl Klugh, Phyllis Hyman and Marcus Belgrade.
Michael Pilhofer has been a top-call drummer in the Twin Cities for over 30 years.
Phil Kadidlo has accompanied local artists including Prudence Johnson, Bruce Henry, Patty Peterson, and Wayne Anthony.
Peter Vircks is known for his idiosyncratic musical style, which melds contemporary innovation with deep-rooted traditions. As the cofounder of the celebrated electric jazz group Moveable Feast and the leader of Midnight Love and the Peter Vircks Quartet, he has left a mark on the Minnesota jazz scene. Peter's work is featured on over 50 albums, including his own 2014 release "What You Believe Is True," which earned a place in Minnesota Public Radio's top 10 jazz favorites that year.
