$35 8:00pm Show
TABLE/READ is a monthly theatergoing event that brings one-night-only performances to non-traditional venues throughout the Twin Cities.
The idea is simple: You buy a ticket to a TABLE/READ event. You show up at that month’s venue. You enjoy a drink, meet new people, and connect with friends. You watch a performance, the title of which is announced that evening.
October’s event will feature a concert of short musical and spoken pieces. Casting will be announced soon.
Tickets for October are $35; included in this cost is your first drink of the evening. Additional drinks and food can be purchased throughout the event.

TABLE/READ is about bringing dynamic theater to unique venues, getting theatergoers out of their houses and their comfort zones, and creating high-quality experiences for performers and audiences.
Launched in August 2025, TABLE/READ has quickly become one of the hottest tickets in town. In August, PAIKKA hosted the regional premiere of The Antipodes by Annie Baker, followed by the regional premiere of COCK by Mike Barlett at Small Hours in September.
TABLE/READ is curated and directed by Grant Sorenson. Known for his “breathtaking...real and visceral” work, Grant is a dynamic and versatile theatermaker whose work spans the classical canon, contemporary drama, music theater, and opera. His directing work has been seen at the Guthrie Theater, Open Eye Theater, Boston Center for the Arts, Crane Theater, Running Errands, Wayzata Theatre, Maison Bodega, Everwood Farmstead, MN Fringe Festival, and others; he has served as an assistant director for the Boston Early Music Festival, Theater Latte Da, The Moving Company, Hennepin Theatre Trust, and others.
