Hailing from Minnesota, trumpeter, composer, and educator Aidan Buck seeks to create music that fosters healing and community in his newfound home of Chicago. He is emerging as a steadfast musical voice in the Upper Midwest. During his time studying music at the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire, he released two albums of original music with his quintet, Summit Blue, which garnered a devoted local following. Aidan has performed at notable Midwest venues such as the Jazz Showcase, Berlin, Quality Hill Playhouse, The Whistler, Jazz Central Studios, and Crooners. As a bandleader and composer, Aidan strives to evoke feelings of serenity and compassion, focusing on a sense of communal togetherness. In collaboration with his band, he cultivates an atmosphere capable of deeply connecting with each and every soul in the room.
Jackson Wheeler is a Chicago-based guitarist, composer, and producer originally from Minneapolis. Their musical background is rooted in jazz, blues, and electronic music, and their work draws from global traditions—particularly those of the African diaspora. They explore the intersection of electronic and acoustic approaches, blending improvisation, composition, and sound design into a forward-thinking practice.
Nat Lin is an up-and-coming bassist in Chicago, Illinois. Since his graduation from Northern Illinois University in 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in music performance, Lin has been a ubiquitous presence on the Chicago jazz scene, frequently playing at venues such as the Jazz Showcase, Andy’s Jazz Club, Green Mill, and the Studebaker Theatre (with the Chicago Jazz Orchestra). Lin is in demand as an upright and electric bassist because of his musical flexibility, deep swing feel, and virtuosic technique.
Colin Dorion is a Chicago-based drummer. He has studied at Berklee College of Music and Northern Illinois University. In addition to his formal training, Dorion has undertaken extensive independent study of historic and contemporary music, continually exploring new sounds and approaches to musical expression. He has performed with acclaimed artists including Bobby Broom and Ernest Dawkins, and he is recognized for his sincerity, versatility, and unwavering commitment to serving the music.
