Multi-instrumentalist Nick Bhalla will perform two sets of improvised solo piano.
Nick Bhalla is highly active in the Minneapolis scene as the bandleader of his trio Big Blue Moon, as a solo pianist, and as a sideman in a number of projects across a breadth of genres. Nick’s solo piano provides meditative soundscapes drawn from a deeply improvisational spirit. Nick’s newest album Empire (April 2024) is a suite of explorations for solo piano, with plenty of room for improvisation and surprising harmonic twists. Revolutionary yet calming—expansive yet introspective—it is the perfect music for entering a fresh mindset.
