Continuing the legacy of the star-studded Experiment series, Ropeadope teams up with longtime collaborator (and head of Ropeadope Sur) Todd Clouser to document the vibrant music scene in Mexico City. With a great number of world-class musicians from Mexico and beyond living in the city, Clouser chose adventurous spirits to join him on the project. Clouser and his collaborators, including guest artist Terrell X, will share the Mexico City Experiment in Minneapolis this August.

Guitarist and composer Todd Clouser is a nomadic ambassador. Originally from Minneapolis, Clouser has rooted in Mexico City, embracing not just the local culture but also the expansive diversity of the country and continent. Consistently advocating for musicians and collaborating across borders and styles, Clouser has set himself apart from the status quo at every turn.

Jerónimo González—widely known by his artistic moniker Last Jerónimo—is a prominent Mexican multi-instrumentalist, producer, and master of the jarana jarocha (a traditional stringed instrument from Veracruz). He has carved out a unique space in contemporary music by fusing the roots of son jarocho with jazz, hip-hop, and electronic beats.

Jorge Servin is a Mexican drummer who plays in A Love Electric and Magnet Animals.

Terrell X’avion (aka Terrell X) is a fearless multi-dimensional artist who blends jazz improvisation with the rhythmic precision of hip-hop, beatboxing, and live looping. Known for his electrifying stage presence and deep musical storytelling, he brings an innovative approach to performance, drawing from a vast well of influences across genres.
