Late Night Lounge: The Witching Hour

$5 at the Door 10:30pm DJ Set

Madeleine Melloy and Sylvia Jennings present the Witching Hour, a night of haunting and ethereal synths. Inspired by giallo cinema and dark disco dance floors, the two will blend shady sounds for warmer weather. Expect to hear a softer side of trip-hop with an edge of dance-forward industrial, Italo, and new beat.

Sylvia Jennings began curating music as a DJ at Radio K, where she hosted Off the Record and Clashed Attitudes, specializing in local and punk music. This led to roles in music promotion for The Current and the electronic-goth event series Dark Energy. After years of immersing herself in underground techno and DIY club culture, Jennings stepped behind the decks, stitching together darkwave, French house, contemporary pop, acid house, and industrial rock. A musician herself, Jennings also performs in the post-punk band Services and the new-wave synth-rock project Jeweler.

Madeleine Melloy got her start DJing in her home neighborhood of Uptown, Minneapolis. As a record collector and former Radio K host, she approaches her sets with a freeform, discovery-driven style. Drawing inspiration from left-field disco, funky punk basslines, and synth-filled melodies, her sound is at once dreamy, gritty, and danceable.
