LA-based vocalist and trumpeter Cameron Kinghorn returns to Minneapolis for an all-vinyl DJ set featuring Afrobeat, Afrofunk, highlife, and jùjú, while celebrating new collaborative vinyl releases from Black Market Brass and Obi Original.
Cameron Kinghorn is a vocalist, trumpeter, songwriter, DJ, and educator living in Los Angeles, CA, where he relocated from Minneapolis, MN in 2020. In Minneaoplis, Kinghorn performed most frequently as the frontman of the soul/R&B group Nooky Jones. Since moving to LA, he has shifted his creative focus to the lo-fi, bedroom-funk group King Pari (Stones Throw Records, Acrophase Records, and Peoples Potential Unlimited). Kinghorn also plays trumpet in the Afrobeat powerhouse band Black Market Brass (Colemine Records) and DJs at several venues throughout the vibrant LA scene.
