Lasse Corson is a Minneapolis-born multi-instrumentalist, composer, and sound engineer. He has studied under Bill Charlap and Johnathan Blake, and he has worked at the Kennedy Center with the prestigious Betty Carter Jazz Ahead program directed by Jason Moran. You can find him when he comes home to visit Minneapolis or touring nationally and internationally with trumpet maverick Jeremy Pelt.
Henry Scamurra is a saxophonist/composer/bandleader based in Kansas City. He received a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Missouri - Kansas City and was selected for the 2024 Betty Carter Jazz Ahead program at the Kennedy Center. He is currently a Charlotte Street Studio Resident writing contemporary improvised music for his band Urban Forum and interdisciplinary performances.
Sebastian Arias grew up in a small town in Costa Rica and began playing bass when he was 11. In 2023, he moved to Kansas City to pursue his master’s degree at the University of Missouri - Kansas City, studying under the instruction of Carl Allen and other instructors such as Eric Hitt and Jeff Harshbarger. He was also selected to attend the prestigious JAS Academy in Aspen, Colorado in 2024, where he worked under the artistic direction of Christian McBride. During the program, he performed with Grammy-winning singer Lisa Fischer and received mentorship from acclaimed artists such as Shelly Berg, Chuck Bergeron, and Brian Lynch.
Jaylen Ward—a drummer, composer, producer, and audio engineer—has his roots in south Kansas City. He has been awarded the national DownBeat awards for Best Jazz Trio (2025) and Audio Engineering (2024). Throughout his career, he has performed with artists such as Bobby Watson, Logan Richardson, Tia Fuller, Harold "Spike" Bonhart of the Four Tops, Tivon Pennicott, Sean Jones, Isaiah Collier and the Chosen Few, Ben Vangelder, Adam Larson, Peter Schlamb, Eddie Moore, Dominique Sanders, and Lynn Seaton.
