Jonah Walt is a rising saxophonist and composer who collaborates in music scenes across the Midwest. Born in Hastings, MN, he began playing saxophone at the age of 10. He studied under Brian Handeland and Preston Duncan in the Twin Cities before attending undergrad at UW-Eau Claire and studying with renowned saxophonist Aaron Hedenstrom. Walt graduated in 2025 with a degree in saxophone performance.
Walt’s introspective writing is inspired by a wide variety of composition styles, including modern jazz, funk, and 20th-century orchestral works. His music is filled with a sensitivity and driving spirit that is intended for the listener to take home into their own world.
