Drummer Chresten Hyde leads a quintet in performing standards, deep cuts, and original compositions by its members. The group’s influences draw on a diverse range of musical landscapes within and outside of jazz: hard bop, modern jazz, experimental, fusion, and straight ahead.

Chresten Hyde is a drummer, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter based in Minneapolis. He developed his musical voice while living in Chicago and Los Angeles. He has worked with Caroline Davis, Chicago Afrobeat Project, Kavyesh Kaviraj, Max Johnk, Shane Cox and Funky Spuds, Ryan Freitas, and Kevin Washington & RA Spirit.
Patrick Adkins is an inventive, empathetic Minneapolis-based pianist and composer. An in-demand band leader and sideman all over town, Patrick has made his mark on the Twin Cities jazz scene, performing at jazz festivals across the Midwest and sharing the bandstand with luminaries such as JT Bates, Dean Magraw, Davu Seru, Michelle Kinney, and Brandon Wozniak. Patrick is a member of the modern jazz collective SPACE (which has released the albums "The Approaching Coast” and "Non-Trivial Problem"), and he branches out from piano to synthesizers for the indie glam-pop band d'Lakes.
Dan Carpel attended Berklee College of Music, where he was in the school’s Monterey Quartet. He was a member of Jason Palmer’s band throughout his time in town, and was a mainstay in their residency at Wally’s Jazz Cafe. His time out east also notably included playing in groups led by Godwin Louis, Noah Preminger, and Melissa Aldana. Since relocating to the Twin Cities, Carpel has regularly worked with Javi Santiago, Zacc Harris, and Abinnet Berhanu. He frequently performed with singer/guitarist Mary Cutrufello as well as Sonny Knight and the Lakers, and he recently became a part of Dylan Hicks’s Small Screens.
Ryan Freitas is a career multi-instrumentalist, composer, educator, and producer currently based in Minneapolis after nearly a decade in Detroit. He has worked with artists and projects across genres, from Lyle Lovett, Kem, and Debbie Boone to jazz luminaries Rodney Whitaker, Vincent Chandler, and Brian Charette.
Toivo Hannigan is a guitarist, composer, producer, and software engineer based in Minneapolis. After graduating from Berklee in 2020, Hannigan moved back to the Twin Cities, where he furthered his career as a freelance musician. Hannigan regularly performs with acts including Jake Baldwin, JT Bates, Bryan and the Haggards, and Larry Wish.
