Brandon Commodore began his professional music career at the age of 19, quickly establishing himself on the Midwest scene as a dynamic drummer with a deep sense of groove and versatility. In 2006, he stepped onto the international stage as the touring drummer for the Grammy Award–winning group Sounds of Blackness. Two years later, he joined the legendary R&B band Mint Condition, touring globally and sharpening his skills as a performer and collaborator.

In 2010, Brandon began writing and producing original music, developing his own band, and expanding his role into bandleader and music director. His talents have led him to program and arrange live shows and to become proficient in tools like Logic Pro and Ableton Live. Since 2017, he has served as drummer and music director for Stokley, the lead singer of Mint Condition; in 2019, he joined Prince’s iconic band the New Power Generation. He tours and performs with both groups to this day. Brandon has also collaborated with a wide range of artists including Paul Peterson; Steve Cole; and his mother, jazz vocalist Ginger Commodore.

After two decades of shaping sound behind the scenes and on stage, Brandon is stepping forward with music under his own name. His debut EP, This Is 40, set for release in late September, is a vibrant blend of soulful jazz and hip-hop—an honest reflection of his journey, growth, and voice as an artist and creative leader.
