7:00pm Show
Horn player Jake Baldwin and vocalist Tommy Boynton will celebrate the August releases of their latest albums—Vanishing Point and Tommy Tunes II: Too Casual, respectively—with a charming, cozy, and fun co-headlined show.
◊
Vanishing Point is Jake Baldwin’s third release on Shifting Paradigm Records. Featuring Baldwin on trumpet and cornet, Cody McKinney on bass, Adam Harder Nussbaum on drums, and Toivo Hannigan on guitar, the edgy jazz-rock album presents a dynamic mix of original compositions—split evenly between Baldwin and Hannigan. A vanishing point is the spot on the horizon where sight fades, yet we sense there’s more beyond. Inspired by this idea, the music explores what lies just out of reach—pushing forward into the unknown with bold, imaginative sound.
A follow-up to 2024’s Tommy Tunes, Tommy Tunes II: Too Casual is a laid-back collection of American tunes curated by singer and multi-instrumentalist Tommy Boynton. The album celebrates the joy of gathering, the heat of summer, and a touch of lust, all captured live in the cozy setting of Boynton’s living room.
