Kenny Reichert’s Letters From the Road: Twin Cities Quartet

$15 (General Admission)
7:00pm Show

Kenny Reichert has spent much of the past decade on the road: driving across North America and Europe, sharing meals with bandmates, and performing gig after gig. His original music has been shaped by those travels and the people he has met along the way. Now based between Minneapolis and Chicago, Reichert will be bringing time-tested and brand-new ensembles to Berlin in Minneapolis and North Street Cabaret in Madison, WI, every weekend in May.

Reichert’s Twin Cities Quartet is a newer working band focused entirely on unrecorded repertoire. The compositions lean toward modern jazz language while blending elements of avant-garde improvisation and folk-influenced melody and form. Each of the players’ personalities will shape each performance.

Band Members:
Kenny Reichert - Guitar
Kavyesh Kaviraj - Piano
Graydon Peterson - Bass
Ben Ehrlich - Drums

Recognized by DownBeat magazine as "a distinctive player and composer," Kenny Reichert has established himself as a compelling guitarist with an expressive, refined approach to his instrument. His artistry has been praised by All About Jazz as "masterly without being showy," and Textura has lauded his compositions for making an "immediate impression" and "warranting repeat engagement."

Based between Chicago and Minneapolis, Reichert is an in-demand performer who has collaborated with artists such as Russ Johnson, Geof Bradfield, Lenard Simpson, Clark Sommers, Ethan Philion, John Christensen, Devin Drobka, Ana Everling, and Alyssa Allgood. He has performed at venues and festivals across the United States and Europe, bringing his music to audiences in intimate and large-scale settings.

Reichert has released four albums as a leader. His latest, Live in Chicago, features his longtime collaborators and their deep musical interactions. His previous albums Switch (2024, Calligram Records); Deep Breath (2023, Shifting Paradigm Records); and Interpretations (2015), cemented his reputation as a forward-thinking guitarist and composer.
