Multi-instrumentalist Bailey "Babo" Cogan (26 BATS!) and drummer Emma Garau join for the first time outside of their shared band, Ghosting Merit, for two sets of jazz-influenced improvisation.
Bailey 26 Cogan aka Babo (they/them) is a multidisciplinary artist from the Twin Cities. They are best known for leading the band 26 BATS!, incorporating drag and puppetry into performances, and hosting DIY art events at the Bat Cave. They play keytar and sing in Ghosting Merit, were part of the Kremblems Collective (2015–2020), and have played keys and harmonized in various bands.
Emma Garau is a drummer and composer based in Minneapolis, MN. She graduated with a BFA in jazz and contemporary music from the University of North Carolina at Asheville in 2022 while independently studying with Dave King of The Bad Plus and touring extensively with Fortezza. Emma has toured and/or recorded with artists including Powderhorns, Grace Christian X, and Geologist (of Animal Collective). She currently tours and records with the art punk duo ¿WATCHES? and as a solo artist.
