Doug Little & Havana Highlife is a quintet that combines the sizzle of salsa with the harmonic richness of jazz. This project swims the seas between musical genres, showcasing intriguing, entrancing, Latin jazz at its best.
The group is led by saxophonist, flutist, and composer Doug Little. Little has studied in Brazil and Cuba, performed and recorded in Havana, and worked with major Latin artists such as Latin Grammy nominee Tiempo Libre and Grammy winner Mayito Rivera. As a jazz musician, Little has recorded 10 albums and has performed in Europe, Asia, and throughout the United States. Little also leads the popular salsa group Charanga Tropical and his jazz project the Doug Little Quartet in the Twin Cities.
