Aaron Hedenstrom’s newest project, Rhinoceros Dynasty, celebrates the release of Rhinoceros Dynasty I, a collection of instrumental songs influenced by funk, jazz fusion, and soundtrack music. Expect a bombastic night not to be missed.

Aaron Hedenstrom is a contemporary saxophonist/composer whose sensibilities span from modern groove-based music to classical music and many sounds in between. Hedenstrom is an instructor of saxophone and jazz studies at University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and is an active clinician and guest performer for educational programs at schools and colleges. His compositions and arrangements have been played worldwide by ensembles including the SFJazz High School All-Stars, Texas All-State Jazz Ensemble, UNT One Clock Lab Band, TPO Taiwan, and Fort Worth Symphony.
Hedenstrom’s musical collaborations have ranged in style from indie (S. Carey) to eclectic (The New Standards) to jazz (saxophonist Grace Kelly, vibraphonist Stefon Harris, vocalist Diane Shuur, and saxophonist Bob Reynolds). His musical style has been developed studying with top-flight musicians including Rich DeRosa, Brad Leali, Steve Wiest, David Berger, and Ethan Wickman. He has won numerous awards for his compositions and arrangements, including the Detroit Jazz Festival Arranging Contest, the ASCAP Young Jazz Composer Awards, the BMI Foundation Future Jazz Master Scholarship, the Jazz Education Network Composition Awards.
